happy easter

Easter, is a time of growth, reconsiliation, and hope, but it is also a special time of the year for my family. April 5th, 1995 (the day after Easter this year) my older sister Lauren left this earth to dance with the angels. This year marks 15 years since she has been in a better place yet that day still seems like yesterday.

This Easter will not include church, an Easter egg hunt with lottery tickets in the eggs, chocolate (ok, well maybe this one cause what day or night shift is complete without this), a floral Spring dress, my family, yummy homemade brunch, or gin fizzes...nope, this year I will be working my first full shift back on my unit after being out for a few weeks and then only on partial duty for two weeks. I am praying that coming back on Easter is a sign that I will not have a relapse in my pain. I say that despite that fact that I have not been a good practicing Catholic/ Christian recently. Maybe, just maybe, this Easter season I will be inspired to find a church in San Diego to attend?

I want to wish everyone and their family a very Happy Easter!
